Annnnnd here we are again! Time for yet another update. As of today we are 24 days from our due date. WHAT THE WHAT! These weeks are FLYING, but the days themselves are slower than molasses. I’ve decided these last few weeks are going to feel like running a marathon, and I’m so thankful I have that experience to mentally help myself! One day at a time, one mile at a time. It’s overwhelming to start thinking about the end as one final chunk, but instead I’m trying to focus on each individual day, and get through it as best I can! The final miles of a marathon are utterly exhausting and mentally draining, but so exciting at the same time, and I just keep reminding myself that there IS something amazing waiting at that finish line! Just. Keep. Going. One foot in front of the other, and the miles WILL pass!
This week brought more of the same, lots of Braxton Hicks, some round ligament pain, cramping, and some nerve pain in my lower pelvis/below my belly. <– Not fun!
Baby girl is definitely growing, and at our appointment on Tuesday she measured right on time at 36 weeks. I thought for sure the doctor would excitedly say she’s ahead of schedule, which is how it feels, but girlfriend is still trucking right along at normal growth! Maybe she’ll be born closer to her due date after all…we shall see!
I’m officially up 25 pounds from our first appointment at 8 weeks. I’m thinking I’ll settle in right around 30 once it’s all said and done, which seems just about right. It’s definitely weird seeing such a different number on the scale, but it’s only a season, and for a tiny human, so, no complaints here!
I am also curious as to what position she is in. We have an ultrasound scheduled next week to confirm it, but I’ve had fun trying to guess myself based on her movements. A part of me thinks she’s head down because of the new nerve pain and cramping down south, but I also feel her kicks up high and on both the right and left side of my belly, so I almost wonder if she’s sideways?? Either way, I don’t *think* she’s breech, which I am thankful for!
Now that it’s officially FALL (hallelujah!!!), I’m even more excited about busting out of this maternity wardrobe and back into my usual outfits! I feel like I’ve been wearing the same 3-4 outfits every week, and I am just.about.over.it.
Adeline will be here so soon, and I still can’t believe that in just a few weeks we’ll be adding a permanent new member to the family. This year has been surreal, and I still haven’t wrapped my head around what’s about to happen! I imagine I won’t truly comprehend it until I’m holding her. Or when we go home and it’s just us, ha! Truckee has been extra cuddly lately, so I wonder if she’s starting to sense that something is about to change. She’s been laying on the floor with her booty smooshed up against the boppy, and at night she’s content to lay in bed right up against me. This morning she almost didn’t let me leave the house, which she hasn’t done in months! Dogs are smart, so maybe she’s catching onto something. One thing is for sure though, her world is about to be rocked, and I CAN’T WAIT to see the two of them interact!
Here are the rest of this week’s highlights…
We’ll be 37 on Sunday!
