And here we are! 40 + 1 weeks pregnant today!
This weekend we were really thinking maybe Miss Adeline would make her appearance, but no such luck. She is definitely on her own timeframe, and just like her mother, she’s running behind! No surprise there!
We decided to distract ourselves on Saturday by attending one of the many fall festivals happening around town. The weather was absolute perfection, and I would have lost my mind just sitting at home waiting for something to happen. So, off to Pooches & Pumpkins we went, a local fall festival for dogs at a huge outdoor garden center. We figured this would most likely be our last weekend as a family of three and knew Truckee would appreciate the extra attention.
She may not look thrilled, but she was really excited!
I still can’t get over how normal I felt the day before our due date. This may sound weird, but if it weren’t for the giant basketball hanging off the front of me, I really felt perfectly fine! Nothing at all to make me think a baby might be making their appearance anytime soon! I guess I should be grateful for that, and happy that I’ve been feeling so great.
Truckee was pretty much a hot mess while we were there, and not exactly the most behaved on her leash as she’s ever been, but we all still enjoyed it! There were free hot dogs, a local ice-cream truck, live music, and tons of fall decor to check out. Didn’t our family selfie turn out good?? Truckee looks so blissfully unaware of what’s coming her way! Ha!
Sunday, our DUE DATE, we headed to church then out to what *might* be our favorite restaurant.
CHICKEN EXPRESS!!!! WHAT UP! Everyone always says spicy foods will help bring on labor, so I was not opposed to gobbling down not one, but two orders of my absolute favorite jalapeño poppers on the face of the planet. You have not lived until you’ve had jalapeño poppers from Chicken Express.
I’m definitely not a believer in the whole spicy foods myth, especially since spicy foods have been a major craving/safe food my entire pregnancy!
The rest of Sunday I spent cleaning, resting, and taking a walk. I’ve given up on trying any labor inducing old wives tales, and am happily awaiting her arrival. I’m reallllly hoping she comes sooner rather than later because I’m not sure I’ll survive another full week! But we shall see!
We have our 40 week doctor’s appointment this afternoon, and I’m hoping our Dr. can shed some positive light on what the rest of this week might look like. Here’s to hoping we’ve progressed and baby girl is coming SOON!
How was your weekend? What are you doing to enjoy the gorgeous fall weather? What day this week do you think baby girl will make her appearance? Any guesses? Yet again!
