I received product compliments of DockATot, Ollie Swaddle, and Binxy Baby. All opinions are my own.
As a second time mom, I’m finding that the baby market has seriously changed in the past 3 years! Isn’t that crazy? In just a matter of 3 years, it feels like I’m already behind in discovering the newest and latest when it comes to trendy baby items. There are so many cool new products out there now that just weren’t around in 2015, and if they were, they were just in their beginning stages. That’s one of the many fun things about entering second or third time motherhood though – you get to wade through those cool new baby product waters and be more selective about your needs. You’ve got all the essentials already, now it’s time to treat yourself to the things you wish you had the first time!
I’ve got three new-to-me products to share with you today, and I’m SO excited to add them to our stockpile for baby Barrett. I can’t even tell you how badly I wish these items were in our arsenal back when Adeline was a newborn! (Which feels equal parts like a million years ago, and yesterday!)
Today I’m sharing all about the DockATot, the Ollie Swaddle, and Binxy Baby. Once our little man is here, and we’ve gotten to test them all out to his liking, I’ll be popping back in to share our experiences for each one. I’m already predicting them all to be game changers. Not gonna lie, they’re almost too pretty to use though! (First time mamas listen up, you need these items too!)
DockATot Deluxe+
I’m sure you’ve seen the DockATot floating around Instagram! It’s wildly popular now, and truth be told, aside from its brilliant purpose, makes a stunning photo backdrop for those sweet little babes! I had never even heard of the DockATot back in 2015, but my goodness would we have loved it! It’s essentially a multi-functional lounger, co-sleeper and playtime lounger and comes in two sizes: Deluxe for 0-8 Months and Grand for 9-36 months. The DockATot is handmade, 100% all natural cotton, and tested for breathability. You also probably wouldn’t know it by looking at it but the bottom is very firm, making it extremely safe for newborn sleep. The DockATot comes in an array of gorgeous patterns, but I opted for Pristine White because I honestly just couldn’t make up my mind, and white is always a hit, right?
We’re not planning on using it for co-sleeping, although I’m sure a few desperately tired mama naps will happen beside it occasionally! I’m mainly envisioning it as a safe place for us to keep baby brother while we’re entertaining Adeline. Be it on the couch, on the floor in the playroom, at Grandma’s house, etc. – just somewhere that will be easy for him to hang and easy for us to transport upstairs and back down! I’m fairly confident I don’t want to haul a swing or Rock ‘n Play up and down the stairs multiple times a day. Use THIS LINK to get $10 off a dock of your choice.
The Ollie Swaddle
Adeline was a big fan of being swaddled, mainly because she had a really strong startle reflex. The swaddle had to be comfortable for her though, and secure enough for her to not Houdini herself out of it. I remember many middle of the night post-feeding sessions and diaper changes where she would be screaming and we’d be desperately trying to swaddle her back up in a loose blanket or noisy hot swaddle and both about to lose our minds. The Ollie Swaddle, also known as the Smarter Swaddle is another new-to-us product that we can’t wait to try and I have a feeling Adeline would have loved it!
The Ollie Swaddle, aside from being insanely soft and classic looking, is made from a moisture wicking material, which helps reduce the risk of overheating. It features easy velcro strips to help custom fit the swaddle below the baby’s shoulders and around their torso, and a simple elastic band at the bottom to secure their little feet inside, and allow for super easy diaper changes. The thought of being able to change baby’s diaper without having to re-do the entire swaddle is genius to me. Our Ollie Swaddle’s first stop? Absolutely the hospital bag! It’s on my must-pack list. Binxy Baby
Remember that time as a new mom you finally made it to Target or the grocery store and you loaded up your newborn’s carseat into your shopping cart only to realize you now only had enough space for one apple and maybe a Dr Pepper? Ok maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but carseats in shopping carts don’t exactly leave you with any room to shop! Enter: Binxy Baby Shopping Cart Hammock. I KNOW! Mind = blown. I feel like I probably had this idea in my sleep deprived new mom state at one point or another but thought I was just crazy. Turns out it’s not crazy, and it’s actually so smart!
Binxy Baby simply clasps onto the sides of most standard shopping carts, and has a secure harness to strap baby in. It sits elevated above the main compartment of the shopping cart, allowing you tons more space for your goods. It’s also sturdy enough to hold a carseat, and can support up to 50 lbs in weight. Of course, once baby starts sitting up on their own you’ll need to retire your Binxy Baby, but until then, they can lay happily in the sling while you shop! I can’t wait to use this on shopping trips where we’ve got Adeline in the seat of the cart, and Barrett chillin’ in the Binxy Baby. Want to try it? Use THIS LINK for 10% off!
Have you heard of these brands before? Have you tried any of them? What new baby product came out between your pregnancies that you wished you’d had the first time?
